This page includes information on proposed projects that are managed by the Department and to which Prop I is applicable. Prop I is codified under Chapter 79 and Chapter 79A of the San Francisco Administrative Code, which together describe the types of projects that require public notice and the timing and methods of such notice.

Update: The Twenty-Seventh Supplement to Mayoral Proclamation declaring the existence of a local emergency, dated February 25, 2020, suspends the requirements under Chapter 79 and Chapter 79A of the Administrative Code for projects that have been approved or will be approved during the local emergency as part of the City’s COVID-19 response. This Order shall remain in effect during the local emergency unless terminated earlier by the Mayor or the Board of Supervisors. 

Proposed Supportive Housing Acquisitions

Property at 1800 Sutter Street

  • The City of San Francisco is proposing to purchase the property at 1800 Sutter Street in District 5 to convert it to  Permanent Supportive Housing with up to 131 units. The building will provide affordable homes with onsite social services to help tenants gain and maintain housing and stability. The property will have professional property management and onsite support services.
  • Community Meeting (held virtually): Thursday August 26, 2021 5:30 p.m.
  • Status: Proposed.
    • The purchase of this building must be authorized by the Board of Supervisors and will be heard in committee no earlier than September 22, 2021. Details about the date, time and location of the hearing will be posted here, and on the Board of Supervisors’ website at https://sfbos.org.

Property at 3061 16th Street

  • The City of San Francisco is proposing to purchase the property at 3061 16th Street in District 9 to convert it to Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) with up to 25 units to house formerly homeless Transitional Age Youth (TAY) aged 18 to 24. The building will provide affordable units with onsite social services to help tenants gain and maintain housing and stability. The property will have professional property management and onsite support services.
  • Community Meeting (held virtually): Tuesday August 24, 2021 5:30 p.m.
  • Status: Proposed.
    • The purchase of this building must be authorized by the Board of Supervisors and will be heard in committee no earlier than September 22, 2021. Details about the date, time and location of the hearing will be posted here, and on the Board of Supervisors’ website at https://sfbos.org.

Property at 5630 Mission Street

  • The City of San Francisco is proposing to purchase the property at 5630 Mission Street in District 11 for use as Permanent Supportive Housing with up to 52 rooms. The building will provide affordable homes with onsite social services to help tenants gain and maintain housing and stability.  The property will have professional property management and onsite support services.

The property will have staff, professional property management, and support services onsite.
